At Clover Dental Care, our office features some of the latest dental technology in Wallingford, including our in-house 3D printers, digital impression system, and more. All of these devices aren’t just for show—they allow us to provide you with absolutely seamless care, whether you need to have a wisdom tooth extracted or you want to tackle periodontal disease. We invite you to read more about some of the gadgets that we use in our practice below.

Digital Dental Impressions

Our Medit i700 and Trios digital impression systems consist of small, handheld wand that we can use to capture and create a detailed blueprint of your teeth and gums. Within a matter of just a couple of minutes, our dental hygienists can capture a precise impression without the use of gag-inducing putty. It will then be displayed on a large chairside monitor that we can use to show you the scan and make sure that the image was clearly captured before we send it off to our dental laboratory.

3D Printers

3D printing is now being utilized in a variety of scientific and medical fields to provide patients with high-quality devices with little to no downtime. We utilize ours to craft custom-made occlusal splints to protect your teeth from grinding, retainers, and surgical guides that we can use to precisely place dental implants. As a result, our patients are able to quickly receive their oral appliances and enjoy more successful surgical outcomes.

Soft Tissue Laser

In the past, dentists would have to rely on more uncomfortable and invasive treatment techniques to tackle the harmful effects of gum disease as well as conduct frenectomies. Thanks to our diode laser, we’re able to conduct these procedures with as minimal discomfort as possible as well as reduce our patients’ risk of post-operative complications. This device utilizes a small light beam to kill harmful oral bacteria on-contact and cauterize the tissue for an overall more positive experience.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

While traditional dental X-rays are able to provide our dentists with a basic overview of the health of your teeth, our cone beam CT scanner can do much more. This device is able to capture a 3D, highly detailed X-rays of your entire facial structure, allowing us to view your airway, jaw joints and bones, the location of your facial nerves, and your sinuses. It’s especially important when it comes to planning surgical procedures like dental implant placement.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral cameras allow our dental hygienist and team to show you an up-close view of problem areas of the mouth. The device is able to capture still images as well as live video footage that we can display on a chairside monitor. The high-definition camera also allows us to gain a more detailed view of hard-to-see areas of the mouth.
